PCOS, Have Irregular Periods, Planning For Pregnancy. How To Confirm Whether I Am Ovulating ?
Hello Doctor, Am 26 yrs old and have PCOS for the past 8 yrs. I weigh 3kgs more than my normal weight. I maintain BMI level and not obese. Have got the LH:FSH ratio at 2.5:1, whereas all the other hormone levels and sugar levels are normal. Have irregular periods. After 60 days of my previous mensural cycle, I used to take Deviry 10 mg for 7 days to induce my cycles. Planning to get pregnant now. But not sure whether and when am ovuluting. Please advice.
You can take tablets to induce ovulation. And then you can track the ovulation by different methods like basal body temperature, cervical mucus etc. Refer:http://srsree.blogspot.in/2013/07/infertility-1_8.html If you correlate two to three methods the result will be good. Then you have to plan unprotected intercourse around the period of ovulation which will increase the possibility of pregnancy. As there is hormonal imbalance, you may need hormonal supplementation during these periods. You can take the required tablets with your doctor's advice.
