Pain After Surgery To Remove Broken Screws. Had Foot Reconstruction And Posterior Tribal Repair. Recommendations?
I had a flat foot reconstruction with a calcaneal Evans procedure and a flexor tendon transfer with a posterior tibial repair and plication. This was 2 years ago. The foot never healed. I've since had a second surgery because the screws had been broken and a nonunion had formed and there is still a lot of pain. What to do?
I have studied your case, As there is nonunion and pain you may need another surgery with bone graft augmentation. See for infection which can be cause of nonunion. Get CT scan done Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
I personally feel that the final option left to you is to undergo a TRIPLE ARTHRODESIS procedure.
This involves surgical fusion of subtalar joint, calcaneocuboid joint and talonavicular joint which provides substantial pain relief and a rigid hindfoot - STABILITY AT THE COST OF MOBILITY.
So, I suggest you to consult your treating surgeon and discuss the issues.
Hope this information is helpful. Good luck
