Pain And Numbness In Arm After PICC Line Removal. Taken Vancomycin For Jaw Infection. What To Do?
I have pain and bad numbness in my right arm post picc line removal. My vein is also buldging. I have pain under my armpit too. Basically I can feel pain + numbness exacly where it traveled to my svc. Its getting worse each day. It was removed in late january bacause of complications. Also the vancomycin was too brutal for me. It was raised from 1 gram to 1.5 3x a day to kill the infection in my jaw bone (osteomyelitis). The infectious disease doc ordered a doppler and nothing was found wrong. He told me to call my family doc. I have, with no responce. What do I do.Who do I see.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The pain and numbness after the PICC line removal is due to superficial thrombophlebitis. Since the pain is gradually getting worse, the chances of infection are also there. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
