Pain And Numbness In Arm, Sore In Area There Is Implanon, Had Implanon 3 Years Back. Suggestions?
I have the implanon in my right arm. I am right handed. I've had it almost three years now. I have not had any problems until about seven or eight months ago I started having pain and numbness in that arm. At first I thought I had just hurt me elbow but it keeps getting worse. The pain now runs up my entire arm and is more sore in the area right around the implant. I have no strength in my right arm any more. Can't pick up simple objects. I feel that it has moved and sometimes I fell it poking me at times but poking the inside. I have been wanting it out for a while but due to finances haven't been able to yet. In scared that it is going to cause sever damage to my arm or that it will get lost. Should I go to an emergency room and have it removed.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The pain and numbness in the arm that you are experiencing only for last three months is not likely to be related to the implanon. This is more likely to be due to a nerve root compression or a nerve involvement in the inflammation like tennis elbow. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
