Pain In Chest, Shoulder, Back, Armpit After Injury. What Could It Be?

I had a hockey injury, i hit the boards at a high speed in an akward way. immediately my chest was in pain on the right side, my back hurt on the right side just beside my shoulder pain, and more intensely my armpit was aching very badly. Its been three days and the pain is still very strong and not subsiding. mostly in my armpit. what could that be? just muscle strain?

Hello,
Thanks for writing in.
Lets hope its only a muscle strain, but then you never know, it could be something to do with the clavicle, scapula, humerus and shoulder joint since you have mentioned it resulted from a high speed impact.
If the pain is not subsiding even on day 3, I suggest you meet an orthopedic surgeon. He will assess movements around the shoulder joint, abduction, adduction, lifting arm over head and so on. Then he may ask you to get a shoulder X ray done if required.
Hope this helps.
