Pain In Eye With Discharge.

I'm a student. i 've some problem with my eye. when i read for a long time in night for 5-6 days i feel pain in my eye.then the eye lid gets showllen .some day day after pus comes .i' ve consultated many doctors, but i cant get rilif. it particularly creats a problem in my syudies.in computer eye test eye power is+25. please help me.

Hi, thanks for the query. The most common cause for swelling around the eye is sleep deprivation, or any change in the pattern of sleep cycle. Fluid retention due hormonal imbalance, & excess salt in the diet can cause swelling in the eye. The cause for the pus, could be infection in the eye. That needs to be tested from the laboratory and the appropriate antibiotic needs to be started. A cold compress near the eye can act as a short-term remedy. Cold temperature constricts blood vessels, preventing the flow of fluid into tissues and diminishing puffiness in the process. Elevating the head while sleeping can prevent the redistribution of fluid and swelling. A low carbohydrate diet will prevent the puffiness of the eye. this is more likely to be conjunctivitis.antibiotic drops and ointment at night should help.
