Pain In Eyes. MRI Suggests Optical Neuritis, Taking Medication, Still Getting Pain. Should I Continue This Medicine?
Hi Doctor, I am getting pain in my eyes. I feel my vision is perfect but repeatedly I get my eyes paining. I did my Brain with Optical MRI and the result was Optical Neuritis and the optical nerve is swollen. I had consulted with the Doctor and he is neurologist. He has suggested me medicine Omnacortil tablets 50, 40, 30 mg. but still I get pain in my eyes particularly I am working in office. I am using this medicine from last week. Also I have B12 blood deficiency so I am injecting "Rejunex" for 2 weeks and then once a week for another 4 months.
Just to check whether this medicine will work or I need to continue this medicine.
I understand that the MRI report mentions swollen optic nerve in the background of eye pain aith an impression of optic neuritis.
In most cases of optic neuritis, there is pain followed by visual loss.
You neurologist doesnt want to take a chance in the light of MRI findings and has started you on Onmnacortil. This medicine must be taken under the supervison of a doctor and dose must be gradually decreased as per your doctor.
Please report any vision loss to your neurologist immediately.
Hope this helps.
