Pain In Head, Neck, Shoulders. Had Vertigo Problem. PMR Suspected. Vision Affected. Prednisone Will Help?

Have ache in head, neck, and adjacent areas in my shoulders.
Had vertigo almost a year ago; stoppedin 3-4 hours but my fine balance never
really returned; take a step sideways every 3-4 yards if walking slowly.
My blood sed rate is 40+ and my creatine likewise.
My Dr, says I have PMR but headaches aren't mentioned in the symptoms.
My vision seems to be affected; distant vision not as good as I've had recently
and closeup diop now at 4.
Whatta ya think??
3 or 4 weeks of Prednisone should get in in control, If I read this article right?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response

Hello,

I have studied your case.

As per your symptoms neck pain can be due to diffuse disc bulge compressing your cervical spine.

When such patient comes to my hospital we usually take x ray spine to see for severity of nerve compression.
Some medication like methylcobalamine with muscle relaxant and analgesic will reduce pain, you can take them consulting your treating doctor.

Some exercises which can be done after pain has reduced include- gradual neck rotation, touching your ears to shoulder, shoulder shrugging exercises.
You may consult physiotherapist for further guidance. He may start TENS ,or ultrasound which is helpful in your case.

Some life style modifications to prevent pain– Take break every 40 min from computer and do some neck rotation, stretches, walk and get back to work. Sit with taking support to your neck, do not use thick pillow in bed, and do not watch television constantly.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care
