I had a vaginal mesh implant in 2006 and since then have had pain. The mesh was to treat vaginal prolapse and rectocele. I have pain in my hips and legs - but not on the inside - mostly on the outsides of my legs. I can't sleep on my sides or the pain increases drastically. I've been checked out by an orthopedic surgeon who told me the pain is not caused from my back. I have an appointment to have the mesh removed by a specialist but my question is whether or not my leg pain is likely to go away afterward.
