Pain In Left Index Finger Hurting The Joint In Hand Followed By Clenched Fist, Unable To Flex Finger. Any Ideas?

about 2 months ago I started experiencing pain in my left index finger. It felt as if I had jammed it. It hurt into the joint in my hand. About a week ago, when I wake up in the morning my fist is clenched and I can t flex that finger. I have to manually open the finger with my other hand and it causes alot of pain. Any clue what is going on?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain that you are having is likely to be due to an inflammation of the tendons or a soft tissue injury in the area. Arthritis also needs to be ruled out after a direct examination.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
