Pain In Leg When Standing, Family History Of Diabetes, Have Fibroids
Hi my right leg has started to throb... has done for the last week. worse when i stand on it. Does not hurt sitting down so much. I am 47 year old femail. Family history of age related diabetes (dad is now 94). Mum is 78 and had a bypass 10 years ago. Apart from that everyone is well. I have fibroids but apart from that am in good health. Thank you
The pain in lower limbs especially when you stand indicates you should get your sugar (fasting, post-prandial, HbA1c) tests and arterial doppler done for the right leg. Throbbing pain can be due to some infection (cellulitis) or arterial block (family history of cardiovascular illness present) which will also progress to cellulitis if left untreated. Has there been temperature difference between your right and left legs? if yes, then please get these tests done without giving a second thought. Being 47 years, are you still menstruating or reached menopause? In case of menopause if you are using any hormonal replcament therapy, then it's better you consult your doctor right away to stop the therapy in view of pain in lower limb.
I hope you got your answer. If anything else, please get back to me. Take care.
