Pin pricking pain on my nipple . I am in 3rd trimester of my pregnancy. I am not leaking colostrum yet . This is my sec baby . Never leaked for my first pregnancy nor did I have any pain. I was exclusively pumping breast milk for an year for my first baby. Is it normal to have this pin pricking pain in nipple. Feels like a pin trying to come out through my nipple
hi,
It is normal to have tenderness and pain in the nipples during pregnancy. You should try to clean your nipples and soften them to avoid engorgement later. Also, try to draw the nipple to relieve any inversion as this can later lessen the need for use of a breast pump. If the pain still persists, report to your doctor and take further advice. Good luck.
first its common symptom dont worry .Sore nipples, one of the most common third trimester pregnancy symptoms, are caused by fluctuating hormones and can be very irritating.
To minimize the pain, make sure you have a well-padded inner wears to prevent rubbing and a good moisturizer to keep your nipples from getting dry and cracked.
If you are planning on breastfeeding, it can also help to get into a breastfeeding class to learn how to help your baby to latch on correctly.
Incorrect latching will make your nipple pain much worse. Also, avoid any sort of scrubbing or use of soap on your nipples while you bathe, since this will only irritate them more.
hope helped your query
