Hi there, I keep getting a pain in my rib cage mainly on the left it use to be mainly on my right side but now it s moved to the left side and round into my back causing back aches!, I ve been tested for diabetes as in passing urine a lot, more hungry and I ve put a stone or so on In the last year and I keep getting bouts of thirstiness but blood test came back clear but have got both type 1 and 2 in both side of my family what should I do next?!
Thanks for query on HCM. What is your age...? Regular screening for diabetes is required because you have strong family history. Pain in lower rib cage and back pain usually occurs in renal stone. Drink more water and other liquids. Avoid sweets, ice creams, chocolates. Go for 24 urine analysis, stone analysis to prevent recurrence. Keep in touch with your doctor.
Hi!
Welcome to HCM!
Together, frequent urination and back pain can be signs of a urinary tract infection.Diabetes and prostate problems are other common causes of these symptoms.
You have tested for diabetes.you can get a urine examination done to rule out urinary tract infection and an ULTRASOUND to rule out kidney stones and other pathology in urinary tract.
hope this helps you!
Take care!
