Pain In Some Of The Bones, Blood Test Normal, Only ALK Level Was 148 U/L. Is It Bone Cancer ?

Hi, im 18 years old, recently i have pain in some of my bones, the pain is not a strong pain but it bothers me a lot.
I had blood test and my doctor looked at the results and said everything is just fine.
if it helps, the ALK level was 148 U/L. my doctor said its because i might be still growing, but i doubt it.
Is it possible that i h
ave bone cancer?

Thanks for writing to us,

I have studied your case with diligence.

ALK is indicator of bone turn over. I t is not any specific marker for bone cancer.
You need to do other investigation like nuclear scan or PET scan or MRI to confirm bone cancer. There will be some investigation which will indicate towards cancer ,if so then only you need to further investigate.
So only on raised ALK we can not comment on cancer.
