No strength in both the hands, even no control on his regular activity, like urin and stool pass. What we can do. Since we are staying in villege. Local Dr's are not equiped to find out the root cause and proper treatment. Any suggestion or advice where wr can treat so that patient can get treatment and can lead normal life with proper medicine. Subhankar jha YYYY@YYYY 0000
Hello Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your father who is 82 years old has recently undergone surgery for prostate mostly trans Urethral Resection of Prostate.(TURP). Though it is endoscopic and minimally invasive surgery it is a major surgery at this age. There is a raw area created after resection of the prostate which irritates the rectum and urethra leading to loss of control over bowel and urination. This takes 6 weeks for complete healing of the prostatic fossa. Do not worry give him antibiotics and anti cholenergic medication like oxybutinine for 2-3 weeks along with vitamin supplements He will recover slowly . Dr Patil..
