hello
welcome to health care magic,
GERD means gastro esophageal reflux disease is an acid reflux disease that means acid from the stomach goes back to the oesophagus because of abnormality in the sphincter that does not allow the food or acid to pass.
this is common problem in today's life...
you need to take proton pump inhibitors(pantoprazole/omeprazole)either alone or in combination with prokinetic drug(domperidone)...daily one tablet with an empty stomach in the morning for atleast a month..
you can feel the difference with in 10 days

apart from medications you need to change your life style..
1.while sleeping keep your head above by placing 2 pillows.
2.dont take heavy foods in the night..
3.avoid alcohol coffee chocolate, spicy foods like masala particularly during night
4.stop smoking...

with in 7-10 days you can observe the change..
regarding your daily medicine(zantac) it is not that much effective..that too it shouldn't take with empty stomach..
hope you satisfied with my answer..
have a speedy recovery
thank you
