Pain In The Chest Below The Collar Bone. Tender Painful Lump Present. History Of Thyroid Problem. Should I Be Concerned?
Hello Doctor, I have been having a pain in my chest just undder my collarbone. It hurts all the time but some days more than others. This has been hurting for about 6-8 weeks. I have a mass there about the width of a walnut. It does not move and is very tender to the touch. I also have Thyroid disease and it is multi-nodule
The lump you described may be infected and cause pain. A careful clinical examination will determine the localization of the lamp, rather it is within or outside the thyroid gland. An ultrasound and some blood tests such as full blood count, ERS and Protein C reactive will be also helpful. After the above exams your treating physician will suggest rather to take antibiotics or to remove it surgically.
Hope the information will help. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards, Dr. Mirjeta
