Pain On Top Of Left Hand, Looks Like Nerve Pain. Opinion?
I HAVE INTENSE PAIN ON THE TOP OF MY LEFT HAND....NOT NEAR ANY JOINTS. IT COMES AND GOES EVERY FEW MINUTES. IT FEELS LIKE A NERVE PAIN. I CAN MOVE MY HAND IN ALL DIRECTIONS WITHOUT ANY PAIN. WHAT COULD IT BE? IT IS NOT NEAR MY WRIST. IT IS LIKE A STINGING PAIN. IT JUST BEGAN TODAY.
THANKS VERY MUCH. I PUT SOME TRAUMEEL ON IT....NO RELIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!
As you are able to perform the wrist joint movements normally, it is unlikely to be arising from the joint.
If it is associated with any specific movement of the hand & wrist, then it signifies pain arising from soft tissues like ligaments or tendons. I suspect this problem in your case. An MRI scan is needed to know the exact soft tissue pathology in the painful area.
Any nerve related disorders can be diagnosed by a clinical examination and by performing Nerve conduction studies.
I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for a detailed evaluation and further management.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
