Pain Returned Again After Laproscopic Hysterectomy, Suspect Vaginal Cuff Never Healed, Scar Tissue. Any Risks ?

I had a laproscopic hysterectomy a year ago after several surgeries for endometriosis. I moved last year and to find a new dr post op. About four months ago, the pain returned with such intensity that I would see stars. My new GYN finally referred me to a Reproductive Endo here locally. They performed a laproscopic procedure last week which to me was unsuccessful. The endo had returned and there are spots on the bowel which she did'nt feel comfortable CO2. I ended up with a serious staff infection and my incesion reopening. Granted, it was not hemorrhage, still scary and the most awful pain I have ever been in. I finally called my Specialist in GA whom a faxed my operative pictures to. He says that the vaginal cuff never healed properly and has caused scar tissue. Is there a risk if I don't have it repaired? Although the pain is so severe I fear I will end up in the ER? I have read so many posts that now I'm very confused and scared. Thank you.

Thanks for posting your query.
You must have had a real tough time going through all that you have disturbed.
Now that infection is sorted, we can look at options for pain relief.
Before that, you need to understand a little more endometriosis , the condition for which you had the surgery in the first place.
Here, the lining of the uterus or endometrium is found outside the uterus also.So in effect removing the uterus will not solve the problem entirely.
This is particularly so when the ovaries are left behind. You may need medication to suppress your hormones so that your endometriosis goes quiet- but this will mean having menopause like symptoms. Do not worry about the scan tissue as its normal for a wound to heal with a scar.

Please meet a gynecologist to discuss these options .
But remember, there is help! We can make thinsg better for you !
Take care!
