Pain While Penetrating During Intercourse. Is It Normal For Vagina To Get Dry While Taking Birth Control?

I'm 28 years old and seem to have pain during intercourse but it's brief and only occurs once he penetrates inside. He has a longer sex drive and likes to go for long lengths of time but I always seem to dry up after a half hour. Is this normal and attributed to my birth control? I've never had this issue except the past year. I had my gallbladder removed 4 months ago so don't know if that has an effect?
