Painful Calf Muscle, Injured, Mild Pain. Will It Get Better?

When racing my motorcycle on a motocross track, I went over a jump and when I landed I felt a sharp pain at the top of the calf muscle near the back of my left knee. There had been some mild pain (only left calf/knee) before the jump for a couple of weeks. Everything seems to work OK. I wrapped the calf for 2 weeks. It hurt much for 2 days then each day less pain. After 1 week little pain and in 2 weeks no pain except when I put some unusual stress on it (running, jumping, motorcycle riding over rough ground). I am 66 years old.

Hello,
You must have had a muscular strain or strain on a tendon.
These are usually immediately followed by severe pains that
could be associated with complete or partial loss of function,
swelling etc.

It is a good sign that the pain is reducing as the day go bye.
That shows that the injury is healing.

You just have to avoid straining the leg as the healing continues
and in say two weeks pains will definitely have subsided
considerably.

Best regards
