I am a 52 year old overweight female with a history of thyroid problems, htn restless leg syndrome. borderline diabetic with back problems. I have nodules in my thyroid that are checked yearly to see if any changes are found. If there is the slightest growth my regular doctor ups my dosage of levothyrizine(not sure of spelling) to keep it from growing I also have a small lump in my upper arm above my elbow that when you touch it it is painful. My upper arm has gotten bigger and has some tightness. I can feel some type of small mass in the area around the lump that the doctor is telling me is a fat deposit. I can tell a difference in my right and left upper arm, I can see a difference in both arms also. He sent me to see the surgeon who is also the one who keeps a check on my thryoid to have a biopsy done. I have had the lump for several years but they have not given it much thought so I try not to either. The surgeon told me my upper arm was bigger because I am right handed and use that arm more. I told him I was concerned about it so instead of a biopsy he sent me to have an ultrasound . I went for it and found out he was having me checked for a blood clot which i do not have. I feel like they think I am a hysterical female and are not taking me seriously. If there is nothing to it that would be wonderful. I just need to know how to get them to find out. Do I need to insist on a biopsy or should I quit worrying about it.
