Painful Neck, Exterior Jugular Veins Swelling. What Seems Wrong?

Hi Im Victoria i have this horrible pain on both sides of my neck but the right side of my neck hurts more then the left so I looked up some stuff of my pain and I found things from people having the same problems and they said something about there exterior jugular veins were swollen well that's what I think it is but I'm not able to go to the doctor to get it checked how can I be Sure that its that and if it is what made it happen and how can I make it stop hurting with out going to the doctor please help mmme

Swollen jugular veins are commonly seen in heart failure. It might be important to know if you have any history of heart disease. It is not also rare to find swollen veins in people that are normal. It becomes a concern when these veins appear suddenly, have never been as such. A compression of the venous return could also explain jugular vein swelling. Pain in the neck could be due to a poor sleeping position, ostheoarthritis or some other rheumatologic disease. The opinion of your primary care doctor could be if much help. Kind regards.
