It is possible that the mass could be a
fibroid which is a benign mass and common in women.
Normally, after
menopause, fibroids regress
gradually thus limiting surgery, However, the severity
and indication demand that surgery be done.
At 45, you are close to menopause if not already at
it, thus if the mass is a fibroid and it is not posing you
problems, you stay without surgery, but if the mass is
a fibroid and its symptomatic, surgery will be needed.
At your age, the better option for surgery will be a
total
hysterectomy which would also serve as a preventive
measure for
cervical cancer.
