Paining After Waxing Armpit. Remedy?

Hi, I recently waxed my armpits last night. I bought it at wal mart and it was the kind where you had to rub the strip, peel the strip, then wax. There was no real hot wax used but my armpits are very red and I'm afraid it wont come off or heal. I haven't used any creams or deodorant i just used a cold washcloth to sooth it but It's still very painful, is there anything I can do to heal it or lighten the redness?

Hi,

Thanks for writing here.

Rashes are common after any kind of waxing. Most common cause is occlusion of hair follicles leading to infections.Otherwise there may be allergy to waxing products.

Apply ice packs.Take oral antibiotic like cefadroxil and pain killers. You can apply a mild steroid like hydrocortisone to affected area.In case it does not resolve it will be better to see a dermatologist.

Hope this will help you.Take care.
