Pale, Tired, Dark Circles Under Eyes, Weakness. Cause Of Concern?
Hello, I am 21 years old male recently i have been looking very pale and tired with dark shadows under my eyes, its got to the point where my work collegues are assumeing im out on the town every night because im looking so tired and ill each day, i only way 9 stone and i do have moments where i feel quite drianed but it only last a little while and then i am fine after. Just wondering if this is anything to be concered about please let me know. Thank you
Hello. I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Your pallor, fatigue and the dark shadows under your eyes are suggestive of anemia, which could be due to any number of issues. Any condition that interferes with red blood cell production, accelerates red cell destruction or causes blood loss can lead to anemia: iron deficiency, autoimmune diseases (lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, for example), bone marrow failure (aplastic anemia), gastrointestinal bleeding, leukemia, thalassemia, and vitamin B12 deficiency are among the many causes of anemia.
Since you didn't mention how tall you are, it's difficult to say if you're underweight. (At nine stone, if you're taller than 5'9" [1.75 m], you're underweight.) Further, without a thorough medical examination it isn't possible to say if your low body weight is associated with your other symptoms -- although it certainly could be.
I urge you to see a physician. I got the impression from your history that your symptoms are growing gradually worse; it's time for an evaluation.
Good luck!
There are many reasons for looking pale and tired along with weight loss.
The most important out of all causes is anemia due to various causes.
these causes include nutritional deficiency of iron, Vitamin B 12, folic acid; loss of blood; destructon of red blood cells and low RBC mass.
You need to get certain invastgations done to find out the cause.
First and fore most get a complete hemogram done- Hemoglobin, RBC counts, WBC counts, platelet counts, Hematocrit, RBC indices and ESR.
Post me the hemogram report once you get it done.
Thanks and take care
