My father, who is 71 years old, North-Indian, had an angioplasty and got 2 stents last month. He's been feeling weak since then. He also has early Parkinson's disease, for which he is taking medication. His Haemogram gave the following impression:
RBCs are closely placed, show moderate anisopoikilocytosis, many microcytes, few elliptical cells seen, hypochromia moderate.
WBCs are adequate in number and normal in morphology.
Platelets are adequate in number.
No immature cells or haemoparasites seen.
Imp:Microcytic Hypochromatic Smear with Erythrocytosis.
What could be the cause of the above?
