Pelvic Scan Shows Bulky Uterus. What Does The Finding Mean?
Please tell me am I in danger. I did pelvic scan the result is: uss shows a bulky uterus measuring 13.1cm ×8.4cm (LxAP ). The myometrim is expanded in the anterior and posterior walls with subscrous and intramural solid tissue masses measuring 4.4cm × 3.5cm, 4.7cm ×6.1cm and 4.9cm × 4.5cm. Internal Os is closed. Both adnexae appears free. Pouch of Douglas is empty. No free pelvic collection sighted. No Cyst. No Cyesis. Thank you.
According to USG report your uterus is enlarged in size and there are three uterine fibroids measuring 4.4cm × 3.5cm, 4.7cm ×6.1cm and 4.9cm × 4.5cm and fibroids are intramural and subserous in position. Treatment of fibroid depends upon many factors like symptoms,Patient age and whether family is completed or not etc. Treatment options are conservative and surgery. Conservative methods are considered in small, less symptomatic fibroids whereas large fibroids need hysterectomy. Myomectomy is also done depending upon cases. You should consult your gynecologist. Hope i have answered your query.
