Pelvic Ultrasound Showing Adenomyosis, Anteverted Uterus. What Is The Treatment?
I ve just received my Pelvic ultrasound report and it says that the enyometrial echo texture appears somewhat heterogeneous suggesting the presence of adenomyosis . Also my uterus is bulky and anteverted and measures 10cm in length, I am seeing my doctor in about three weeks time, but I m a bit nervous to what is to come.
Hi welcome to Health care magic forum. Your pelvic ultrasound report says that there is possibility of adenomyosis. Any how you are going to gynic so dont worry about the thing.
In this case it is to be corelated with the symptoms and plan the treatment, if there is involve ment of the endometrium also there will be dysmenorrhoea, and menorrhagia(excess bleeding).antiverted uterus is a commen finding in this case due to over weight of the uterus.
If the glands tissue occupies only muscle layer there will be pain during period and no excess bleeding. In very severe cases hysterectomy may be needed.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery and thanks for calling.
Systemic hormonal treatments such as continuous combination oral contraceptive pills • Local hormonal treatment such as the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system (the Mirena IUD)
Second Line
• Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists
• Danazol
Additional Treatment
Angiogenesis inhibitors
Surgery/Other Procedures
• A hysterectomy is curative.
• Minor surgical procedures for therapy include the following
Endometrial ablation › Laparoscopic myometrial electrocoagulation
› Adenomyoma excision
› Uterine artery embolization
