Pencil Tip Size Lump On The Lower Abdomen Which Hurts When Pressed And When Seated.

My 15 year old granddaughter discovered a lump on her lower abdomen. I can feel it and it feels almost the size of a pencil point maybe a little bigger. It hurts to press on it but does not hurt to walk lay or stand but a little when she sits. I am her legal guardian and she has lived with me since she was three. No major health issues and very seldom ill.

Hi,

I strongly suggest to get her checked by a physician as further evaluation is needed to determine what is the cause of such lump.

The most common include folliculitis, however, I advise to run abdominal/soft tissue ultrasound to rule out abdominal problems.

If nothing, then, it might be a lipoma, for which a further evaluation by surgeon is needed to determine if to be surgically removed or not.

All the best!
