Your wife was operated for
thyroid almost 2 year ago. This test
ESR, is the rate at which red blood cells sediment in a period of one hour.
Common hematology test, and is a non-specific measure of inflammation.
This non specific marker of inflammation and useful to monitor prognosis and response therapy.
Please do not worry it is near normal and can be high due to low
hemoglobin which it needs to be correlated clinically.
The reading which you have reported is 26 at the end of 1st hour which is almost normal.
I do not think there is something serious at all.
If required just get Thyroid function T3 T4 and
TSH and consult your Physician.
