Period Is Delayed. Had Appendicitis Operation. Not Pregnant. Cause?

hi doc,my menses was delayed for 49days,my circle is very regular 28days,i had an operation on appendicitis 2 months ago,after my opt,my menses had become irregular now,i am nt pregnant at all and i'm 45yrs old,i wonder why i'm like tat,is it due to hormone changes or primenopause? i would appreciate that u could advise me,ty very much.

Hi,These changes and delays could be due to both reasons,the stress of the surgery as well as menopause. If you are certain that pregnancy isnt an issue then no need to worry about it. At age 45,you are definitely perimenopausal.
