Periodic Bleeds In Urine Despite Taking Plavix For Stroke. What Is The Expected Duration Of Bleeds?
I am a stroke victim; brain stem with little after effects; date 8/13 and have been on plavix since. Went off plavix 10/30 prior to green light laser surgery on 11/6. I resumed the plavix on 11/11. I m still having periodic bleeds in urine and passing clots. What is the expected duration of these bleeds and should I stop the plavix again and for how long. I am age 79 and in excellent health; 6 2 , 209 lbs.
Hi,Welcome to Health care magic forum. You had stroke on 8/13, using plavix. Went off on 10/30for green light laser surgery on which is on 11/6. You resumed the plavix on 11/11. It appears that you are passing blood and clots in the urine from the beginning of the treatment with plavix. The bleeding from different sites of the body is the side effect of the drug plavix. So it is to be stopped, and sort some other alterntive in its place. Wishing for a good luck. Thank you.
