Periodic Pinching Pains Under Rib Cage. History Of Dehydration. Cause?

My 11 year old daughter has started having periodic pinching pains under her rib cage. She is a competitive softball player but hasn't had any injuries and was not hit by a ball. I have tried to make sure she is hydrated because we had a bout of dehydration last summer. Any thoughts of what could be causing this? She takes vitamins,singulair and flonase each day.

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Is the pain on one side or both the sides. If it is on the right side then some liver pathology should be suspected for which an ultrasound and other appropriate pathology would be required.

If the pain is on both sides then muscular pain can be suspected. It would be better to get it examined by a health care professional who will be in a better position to guide you.
