Hello!
Thanks for being with HCM.
Normocytic hypochromic red blood cells means red blood cells size is normal but amount of hemoglobin inside the cells is less.
Slight variation in size and shape that is also called anisocytosis and
poikilocytosis.Such type of change is also due to decreased hemoglobin concentration or defect in formation of cell membranes.
You need not to go into details of these changes. These changes can be seen in:
1.
iron deficiency anaemia
2.
chronic blood loss due to peptic ulcer, hemorrhoids, heavy menstruation, etc
3.Anaemia of chronic disease such as
chronic kidney disease,tuberculosis,
malabsorption.
Rest of the findings mentioned in report are normal.
Now my question is, how much is your hemoglobin?
If you have low hemoglobin, get physician's opinion for cause of you low hemoglobin.
There is possibility of iron deficiency as all the changes mentioned in report are seen in iron deficiency anaemia. It is most common cause for such findings. You may need iron supplement to correct it.
Hope i could help you better.Do not hesitate to write us for more queries.
Wish you good health.
