Persistent Cough, Itching In Throat, Occurs In Spring Season. Any Ideas?
I've had a very persistent cough for the past week and it doesn't seem to be going away. It feels like a constant itch in my throat and if I take a deep breath I cannot help but cough my lungs out. It seems to come in during the Spring time, and I believe that due to my weaker physical health this year, the coughs are worst than before.
Hello Friend Welcome to H.C.M With little information and as per the history you have given and the clinical findings you may be suffering with chronic Pharyngitis may be associated with chronic sinusitis( descending infection). In such a scenario i usually prescribe oral broad spectrum antibiotic and antihistaminic and nasal steroidal spray eg mometasonenasal spray for one month. after one month of treatment get the CT scan of the paranasal sinuses. and consult the E.N.T Specialist if you don’t get relief as on examination the findings may be different and line of treatment may have to be changed. Please don’t hesitate to consult and ask for any more query. i will be pleased to answer. With best wishes for a speedy cure Yours sincerely The Health Caremagic Medical Team
