Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Persistent Tenderness In Knee, Groin After Injuring Toe. Possible Treatment?
A patient complains of persistent tenderness in the right knee and groin area. The tenderness started a few weeks after he injured the big toe of his right foot , which became red, swollen, warm, and painful. He says the toe improved without medical attention. The knee and groin tenderness remain. What is a possible treatment?
The knee and groin tenderness will also go away within a few days. If it does not then it probably was not related to the injury in the big toe of his right foot and I advise you to take pain medications over the counter. However if this does not solve the problem and it continues to remain I would have to advise you to take medications from a pain specialist since this sounds like neuropathic pain. Also try using a multivitamin with vit. C in it as it helps with healing. I hope this helps.
Take care and have a lovely day !
