Dear connectneishag,

Chest pains due to anxiety happens and they are to be ignored.
But you must make sure that your chest pain is due to undue anxiety.
Consult a physician and get an ECG and TMT (if necessary) done to confirm that your heart is working find.
Then follow a healthy life style and avoid anxiety and tension.

Good luck.

Psychiatrist Dr. Sudhir Hebbar's  Response
Hi
you are getting minor anxiety symptoms while driving. First convince yourself that there is no problem with your heart and brain by visiting doctors. If you have any doubts about your health, your anxiety will not subside. Once that is done just neglect these symptoms while driving. If you are able to do these things anxiety naturally subsides.

Hello.........
Thanks for your query. It is possible that you are suffering from panic attacks that manifest as chest pain, palpitations and pain symptoms. An ECG is required to rule out cardiac causes. If normal, further assessment by a psychiatrist is essential. Anti-anxiety medication as well as psychotherapy would be useful in this regard. Wish you speedy recovery.
