Pilates, Bruising Behind Knees, Stretched Ham String, Miss The Exercise For Pain Relief ?
I am a 65 year old woman, I do a weekly keep fit class and a weekly Pilates class . Today I noticed bruising behind both my knees. I wonder if I have overdone the stretching of ham strings Pilates exercise i do? Should I give this exercise a miss for a few sessions? Should I do anything else to help cure it? i am rubbing in Arnica and Tiger balm . It just feels a bit stiff but otherwise OK.
hi
its good to have a regular exercise as it keep fits in later ages. the bruise you observed behind your both knees is obviously due to the over stretching and you will feel mild pain with stiffness for 2-3 days but you don't need to give up your exercise. you continue your exercise and it will subside by itself with its time however if you stop exercising it will settle within its due time but will reappear after you start again so better to continue your classes and it will increase the threshold level of your muscle stretch and its elasticity. for pain you can use muscle relaxant or painkillers
thanks
with regards
