Planning For A Baby. On Medication For Diabetes, Cholesterol And Low Sperm Count. Any Advice?
Doctor, my husband taking evict 400,Coq10 50mg,L- Carnitine 500mg.our doctor gave this capsules.doctor told my husband have low sperm.that is why he have to take this capsules.he had 8millions/ml total sperm count .i try to get a pregnant but still not pregnant.he has diabetes and cholesterol he took metformin 500 and limiter 20mg.now he is blood suger level is ok (98).please give to advice about this situation.

Thank you for getting in touch with us. As I see, your husband has a low sperm count of 8million/ml. This is most probably related to diabetes and sugar he is having. As his blood sugar is in control now, he should work on his cholesterol and get in within normal range too. Along with that, he needs to get regular check ups done to evaluate the quality of the sperm. If there is no improvement even after sometime, then you can consider going in for other means of fertilization. Hope this helps

Thanks for your query.Your husband is a known diabetic which is under control with oral medications. and having low sperm count.Your Dr has prescribed some medicines to raise the sperm count.There are many medicines in the market claiming to raise the sperm count But to be honest I would like to state that there is no medicine in any faculty of medicine that has been proved to raise the sperm count. However following measures may help to raise the sperm count.
1 Have a high protein ,low fat diet rich in fruits and vegetables
2)Have moderate exercises daily with meditation.for1/2 hr
3)Avoid smoking and alcohol
4)Take some Anti Oxidant
These measures will help to raise the sperm count and will improve quality of sperms.so as to enable to conceive Please consult some Infertility Specialist for proper evaluation and treatment and to try other methods like IVF or ICSI i
