Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was in the hospital with pneumonia for 5 days about 6 months ago. I recently got very sick with a temp of 101.3 and all the stuff that goes along with it. My chest hurt then, but all the cold/ flu symptoms are gone now besides that. It is the left side of my chest, and it is not very painful, just annoying. I only have a dry cough now, no temp or anything. This has been about 2 weeks now. I am very tired all the time too.
If you had pneumonia 6 months back and made a complete recovery, it is most likely that you experienced a flu attack last week. You have not written details about your general health and any associated severe symptoms.
Flu is a self limited infection which can extend over a week and leaves the person tired and weak. Sometimes flu is accompanied by bacterial respiratory infection.
For your dry cough you can have cough suppressants and antihistamines (cetirizine) and take adequate precautions from environmental exposure to cold temperature. Also have good healthy home cooked food for few days.
Hope this helps
