Polyp Grown Through Uterus And Ovaries Are Removed. Is It Safe To Take Total Hysterectomy Along With Hysterscopy And D And C?
Does the doctor ever decide to do a total hysterectomy, at the same time they do the Hysterscopy & D & C? They are doing this procedure because they found a polup that had grown through the uterus, and they are going in to see what the problem is. They said these types of polups are pre-cancerous. I ve already had my ovaries removed - two years ago, due to a benign growth on one of them.
No they do not, because a hysteroscopy is not such a simple procedure, and needs to be planned in advance, the patient needs to be well prepared and so on.
A hysteroscopy and D&C will help in irrigation and hopefully removal of the polyp and tissue samples can be tested in the laboratory to confirm/rule out cancer or apre-cancerous lesion. If this does not succeed, a hysterectomy will be planned in the future. But not as of now.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
