Positive Pregnancy Test. Ultrasound Shows Myoma Nodules, No Embryo. Meaning?
I am 30 years old and my pregnancy test is positive. My LMP is on August 8, 2013. I had my first transvaginal ultrasound last September 18, 2013 and resulted the following: Uterus-There are 2 hypoechoic structures noted at the mid-posterior wall measuring 0.75 x 0.85 cm and 0.89 x 0.63 cm suggestive of myoma nodules. Adnexae Right Ovary-With a thin-walled, unilocular anechoic cystic structure with irregular borde measuring 2.01 x 1.98 cm suggestive of corpus luteum . The sonographer suggested to have a follow up scan after 2 weeks. No embryo found. I don t know what is the meaning of her findings and I am so worried if it s normal or not. I hope I can get an answer from the experts. Thank you very much.
Hi, welcome to HCM. Unfortunately it is not a normal scan. On transvaginal scan early embryo must be seen in uterine cavity. Myomas are just a hypertrophied muscles of the uterus. No need to worry about that it is common in many women. You need to do follow up scan to see if the dates are mismatched or not. Also repeat pregnacy test and consult your gynecologist.
Regards.
