Positive Pregnancy Test. Used Cocaine. Adverse Effect On Fetus?
Hello. My period is 5 days late. I took a pregnancy test tonight and there were two lines indicating a positive result (one line was very faint). I have used a small amount of cocaine twice in the last month and have had drinks on occasion. Is this likely to have an adverse effect on the fetus? If there are any issues can they be known before birth? I am 34 years old and have been unable to conceive for 2 years. Thank you.
Hi, Thank you for asking question on health care magic use of cocaine may cause low birth weight premature delivery and occasional foetal death it can cause stroke and damage the brain these affects are seen in cocaine addicts as you have taken only twice last month, if you stop taking cocaine as well as alcohol through out pregnacy nothing may happen Hope this answer will serve your purpose Take care Dr.M.V.Subrahmanyam MD;DCH Associate professor of pediatrics
