Possible UTI, Unable To Get Erection. Been Anxious. What Can Be Done?

I am 24 years old and have not had many sexual partners.
I recently in the last 2 days started having urinary problems, needing to go quite often, only a little coming out each time, and with these symptoms it also seems that I have become unable to get an erection.
I was wondering if it is possible that a UTI could cause erectile dysfunction or issues or whether they are connected in any way?
I have a doctor's appointment early next week but am naturally anxious and nervous about it now.

Hello and thanks for the query.

Having erectile dysfunction is always a very troubling thought that makes most men very anxious about it. this even further compounds the problem because of lack of self confidence.

Your symptoms of frequent urination and small urine quantities make UTI a possibility. .However, you may need to answer some more questions and tests if needed before receiving treatment.

UTI, if poorly managed may spread and cause genital problems, among them, erectile dysfunction. The association between acute symptoms and erectile dysfunction does not have a cause-effect relationship most of the times. Erectile dysfunction often results from the anxiety created by the fear on infection and the fear of future complications rather than the infection itself..

Hope this helps and for the mean time, drink a lot of fluids. if symptoms get worse or you start to develop fevers, you may want to consider going in earlier.

Wish you a speedy recovery!
