Pregnancy, labor, c-sect and anesthesia. Hello, I just started seeing a new neurologist (new city). She said that I should not have anesthesia during the labor, that natural labor while very difficult "painful" is safest for my case. The epidural in the last two deliveries corresponded with a drop and lose of fetal heart rate, no heart beat. She said it is related to the exertion-induced dystonia I have. However, the hospital I am with (different from previous two births) prefers to do a c-sect with anesthesia. So, do you know of any studies about anesthesia being used during surgery or during delivery? I am siding with the neurologist considering my last two births had adverse effects on the babies's heart rate and lose...but I want to read the studies or case studies so I understand the complications. Thank you.
