Pregnancy Scan Showing Fetus Having Hydronephrosis. Is There A Cure Without Surgery?

My wife is pregnant and in the 7th month scan report – it’s observed that my baby’s left kidney has some problem – hydronephrosis. Mild to Moderate.

I have read related articles and found that
     For Mild – Doctors will do the scan post the birth and keep regular tab of the issue. Wherein the chances of reduction is there in normal course of life with / without medication.
     For Moderate – Post observing for few months, doctors will take a call that if the issue can be cured with medication or with Surgery.
     For Sever – Surgery is needed

However, I am not able to find out, how this would affect the kids growth –
     When cured with medication
     When cured with Surgery
Will there be any restriction to the Kid in doing any physical activities? Will he / she able to do all the physical activities which are done normally by other kids? Please advise.. I am really worried.

Pediatrician, Neonatology 's  Response
Hi,
I appreciate that you have done a thorough net search.
you did not mention whether it is bilateral or unilateral.
Growth affection will depend on renal functions.
Activity will not be affected unless renal function is grossly deranged.
If it is obstructive type surgery will help.
A good pediatric surgeon and neonatologist should asssess at birth.
Good luck
god bless
Dr Uma
