Pregnancy Test Positive. History Of Taking Regestrone For A Week To Postpone Periods. Safe To Continue Pregnancy?
Hi Doctor, My wife is 31years old & we have a daughter of 5years.My wife gets regular periods every month. This month she was suppose to have periods on 22nd but due to an unavoidable ritual in the family she had to postpone her period for which she took regestrone 5mg at night for 7days starting from 17th.She stopped it on 23rd and today i.e. on 30th when she did get the period we did a pregnancy card test & got the result as positive. Now we are worried, as she took regestrone will there be any problem for the baby or for the mother. Is it okey to proceed with the pregnancy. Kindly advise me. Thank you. BK.

Pregnancy Test Positive. History Of Taking Regestrone For A Week To Postpone Periods. Safe To Continue Pregnancy?
Hello, thanks for using health care magic There is absolutely no problem in continuing the pregnancy. Regestrone is a hormone based pill of which the hormone is normally found in body. It is a common day to day issue to find women who become pregnant while on hormonal pills. Very little has been said about the side effects and many of such women have their babies with no malformation or abnormality. So there is no need to be afraid of and you should keep the pregnancy. Best regards and hope this helps you Dr Achuo
