I am currently pregnant with my first child, I am 38+4 weeks and have been constipated throughout most of my pregnancy but lately I have found going to the toilet very easy, I heard the loose bowel movements are signs of your body getting ready for labour , but does that apply to having diarreah only? I haven t had any just found passing stool easy
Hi,
Loose bowel movements nearing due date could be an indication of the preparation of the body for impending labor as this happens due to the release of prostaglandins, premonitory for induction of labor. Apart from this, you may notice other features like increased need to pass urine as the baby descends down into the pelvis, decreased fetal movements (observed with caution), reddish-white vaginal discharge, leak of membranes, tightening of the abdomen increasing in duration and intensity along with pain over the abdomen radiating to the back and the groins. All these indicate that your labor has begun. Hope this helps. Good luck.
