Pregnant. Had Bleeding. Suggested Protein S Test. Prescribed Klonopin. What Is Going On? Is It Safe?
Hi-
I'm in 8th week pregnancy. During 5th week of pregnancy, and clot was reported, i had bleeding. Doctor advised me for Protien S test in Metropolis. The observed value is 48 against reference value of 55-123%. Now doctor has advised me of lonopin 60 mg (my weight is 55 kg).everyday until delivery. I'm little nervous, not sure going in right direction. Please let me know if this treatment is normal for baby and my health. Any after effect? Do I need to continue injection post delivery?

hi thanks for yourquery Protein S and protein C help control blood clotting. A lack of these proteins may cause blood clots to form in veins. lonopin is used for preventing blood clots and it is safe for baby and it prevent the complication due to clotting-miscarrage. no need after post delivery.
wish you good health
with best wishes
